1978 Gibson “The Paul” – All Original – T-Top Pickups – Chainsaw Case

This 1978 Gibson “The Paul” is a fantastic, all-original example of one of the coolest late-’70s Les Paul variants. Lightweight at just 8 lb 5 oz, it has the lively, resonant feel these walnut-bodied models are known for—and it absolutely delivers the tone to match.

Loaded with its original T-Top humbuckers, this guitar has that unmistakable late-’70s Gibson voice: clear top end, tight low end, and a focused midrange that cuts beautifully without getting muddy. These pickups alone make this era especially desirable among players and collectors.

The frets are in great shape and the guitar plays well up and down the neck. The finish is comfortably worn in on the back of the neck, giving it a smooth, broken-in feel that only decades of real use can create.

It comes housed in the original Gibson “chainsaw” case. The case is structurally in great shape overall; however, the handle has been duct taped due to internal foam rot—a common issue with these cases from the era. The rest of the case remains solid and protective.

Listed in Excellent condition based on all original parts and no damage or obvious repairs. It's not "Mint" Please refer to pictures.
