Thanks for looking! This WWII era guitar is a stunning example of the Golden age of Martin. It's so much more resonant and loud than anything you could buy from the Custom Shop or a Boutique builder. Believe the hype, this is the pinnacle of acoustic tone.
-The tuners are original, may have had a couple re-buttoned but the patina matches.
-It has been refretted with period correct frets.
-It has had a neck reset. Whoever did it did a great job. The action is medium-low as it sits, but there is plenty of saddle left for fine tuning. The neck is perfectly straight with just a hint of underbow. Just the way you like it.
-The top has seen some miles. There are 2 cracks that have been professionally cleated and repaired. It is almost completely flat with no belly. The herringbone binding looks amazing.
-The bridge appears to be a replacement. You can see the footprint of the original bridge around the edge of this bridge. The pins are replacements. Nut,saddle and pickgaurd are all original.
-An endpin hole has been plugged and a white plastic button installed.
-There is a repaired crack on the shoulder near the neck heel. Again, professionally done and solid.
-The finish on the bottom and the back have various scuffs and scrapes. Nothing serious just adds to the mojo.
-Internally, the bridge plate has been replaced.
-There is a hole on the back of the headstock where a strap button lived at one time.
-This year 000-28 features non scalloped bracing. I don't know what the "experts" on the forums might say this does to the tone, but I personally may never buy a scalloped braced guitar again!
-The neck has the most gentle "V" shape to it. The nut is 1 11/16"
-This guitar stays in tune remarkably well!
-Comes in lovely hardshell case.
