1977 Fender Bassman 50 Head

All Original. Honest Vintage Condition. Surprisingly Great Guitar Amp.

The 1977 Fender Bassman 50 comes from an era when Fender was building straightforward, roadworthy tube amplifiers with enormous clean headroom and simple, effective controls. Originally marketed as a bass amplifier, the Bassman series earned its legendary reputation just as much from guitar players—becoming a favorite platform for rich cleans, edge-of-breakup tones, and pedal-based rigs.

This example remains all original and delivers the warm, dynamic response that has made late-’70s Bassman heads increasingly appreciated among guitar players. There’s excellent note separation, a big low end that stays controlled, and the kind of smooth breakup that only a vintage Fender circuit seems to produce when pushed.

Cosmetically, this one shows honest age and use. There is surface rust/patina on the handle hardware and mounting straps, giving it a true vintage look, while the tolex and grille cloth have held up nicely and present very well overall.

While originally designed for bass, these Bassman 50 heads have developed a strong following as guitar amps thanks to their clean headroom, pedal compatibility, and excellent pairing with 2x12 and 4x12 cabinets.
