The Carol-Ann OD-2 has long been regarded as one of boutique amplification’s best-kept secrets—delivering exceptional touch sensitivity, massive harmonic content, and a refined gain structure that lives comfortably between classic British authority and modern boutique responsiveness.

This particular 2008 OD-2 100W is an especially special example, ordered in a stunning custom burgundy tolex with wicker grille cloth and paired with its matching 2x12 cabinet. The visual presentation alone sets this rig apart, combining understated elegance with unmistakable boutique character.

Power comes from EL34 output tubes, giving the amp a rich midrange voice, authoritative low end, and the kind of singing upper harmonics players chase in premium British-inspired amplifiers.

What makes this one especially notable is the gain boost channel modification performed in 2009 by Alan Phillips, adding additional flexibility and expanding the OD-2 platform while maintaining the amp’s original feel and musical response.

The matching cabinet is loaded with a pair of Fane Alnico 12 speakers, creating a huge, dimensional sound with effortless detail, warm compression, and exceptional dynamic response. Together, the head and cabinet create an extremely articulate and premium-feeling rig that excels from edge-of-breakup cleans to rich saturated lead tones. The hue of the grillcloth doesnt exactly match the head as pictured. 

Included are the head cover, footswitch, and M1-01 MIDI box for expanded switching and control functionality.
